As our 3rd/4th Grade Literature Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in developing students' reading, writing, and analytical skills in a nurturing and engaging environment.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Inspire Young Readers and Writers: Develop and deliver an engaging literature curriculum that encourages students to explore various genres, authors, and themes. 

  • Foster Critical Thinking: Guide students in discussing and analyzing texts, helping them to think deeply and express their ideas clearly.

  • Integrate Technology: Utilize technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student learning and engagement. 

  • Collaborate with Colleagues: Work with fellow teachers to design interdisciplinary projects and ensure curriculum alignment. 

  • Communicate with Families: Maintain open communication with parents, sharing updates on student progress and classroom activities. 

Additional Responsibilities 

  • Serve as a homeroom teacher, incorporating social-emotional learning into daily routines. 

  • Participate in school committees, events, and extracurricular activities. 

  • Lead or co-lead multi-night field trips to enhance students’ experiential learning. 

  • Attend faculty meetings, engage in professional development, and contribute to school-wide initiatives. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field; advanced degree preferred. 

  • Experience teaching at the elementary school level. 

  • Passion for literature and fostering a love of reading in young learners. 

  • Strong understanding of child development and best practices in elementary education. 

  • Proven ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners. 

  • Dedication to Social Emotional Learning and whole-child instruction.  

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Collaborative spirit, flexibility, and a positive attitude. 

  • Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
