Community Service
ACIS schools make a significant, positive impact on their local communities, the state of Colorado, and the world. In addition to employing thousands of Coloradans, a commitment to serving others and making the world a better place are common elements in all of our schools. Service-learning programs in ACIS schools develop empathy, compassion, appreciation for diversity, and a sense of purpose. Some examples of these experiences include tutoring in local schools, raking leaves in the local neighborhood, helping to erect homes for the homeless, making biodiesel fuel for use in school vehicles, working in a soup kitchen, and building a dry composting toilet in Nepal. ACIS graduates carry these lessons and commitments forward into their adult and professional lives.
