Key Responsibilities

  • Inspire Emerging Learning Skills: Design and implement an engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum that supports both academic and social-emotional growth.
  • Foster Exploration through Play & Instruction: Create a joyful, student-centered classroom that encourages curiosity, creativity, and a growth mindset.
  • Collaborate with Colleagues: Work closely with fellow teachers to develop interdisciplinary projects and ensure curriculum alignment.
  • Communicate with Families: Maintain open, consistent communication with parents about student progress and classroom experiences.
  • Create a Supportive Environment: Establish clear classroom routines and build a strong sense of belonging and community.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Head of The Nest in a full-day Early Childhood program (Monday-Friday).
  • Participate in school committees, events, and extracurricular activities.
  • Attend faculty meetings, engage in professional development, and contribute to school-wide initiatives.
  • Actively engage in our House System (think Harry Potter), fostering cross-age relationships and community spirit.
  • Support our commitment to teaching public speaking and presentation skills from an early age.

Qualifications

  • Classroom experience teaching at the Early Childhood level, including curriculum development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Psychology, Family Studies, or a related field.
  • Deep understanding of child development and best practices in Early Childhood Education.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of young learners.
  • Strong collaborative spirit and openness to innovation in teaching.
  • Flexibility, optimism, creativity, and a growth mindset.
  • Passion for fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, colleagues, and families.
  • Organizational skills and ability to create engaging, structured learning experiences.
