Algebra 2 Teacher

Targeted Math Specialist for Algebra 2 for the 2025-26 School Year


Mackintosh Academy, an independent pre-K through eighth grade school for gifted and creative students in Littleton, CO, is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time Algebra 2 teacher for the 2025-26 school year. This candidate will work with a small group of accelerated eighth grade students.

Founded in 1977 as Colorado's first school dedicated to gifted learners, Mackintosh Academy is a purposefully designed small school, currently serving 108 students in classes no larger than 18 students. Requested Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or related field required. Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

  • Demonstrated experience teaching high school math

  • Communicate effectively and professionally with parents

The ability to:

  • Lead students in mastering advanced algebra concepts, including topics like quadratic equations, linear, exponential, and logarithmic functions, matrices, and data analysis

  • Design and deliver comprehensive lessons based on Mackintosh and IB standards and objectives, while continually assessing student understanding

  • Maintain accurate records and progress reports

  • Effectively employ current teaching and assessment monitoring strategies

  • Utilize with ease interdisciplinary, inquiry, and concept-based pedagogy

  • Support our educational philosophy (see website for information)

  • Adjust classroom management and instruction based on classroom or individual student needs

  • Understand gifted development, including twice-exceptional students

  • Be organized, flexible, and adapt to needs of a small school where faculty members work collaboratively and fill various roles

  • Perform classroom administrative tasks effectively

  • Provide effective and timely feedback/assessment to students

  • Recognize and enjoy the unique talents of children

  • Provide regular communication about students' progress to parents and students

  • Other duties may be assigned

Start Date: August 1, 2025 

Pay Range: $29-35 per/hr. Salary consideration is given for seniority, merit, quality, education, and experience.

Hours: M-F, 8:00 - 10:00 am plus one hour/ wk of prep time. This part-time position is not eligible for benefits.
