Substitute Teachers for the 2024-25 School Year

Mackintosh Academy, an International Baccalaureate World School for gifted and creative students in Littleton, CO, has openings for substitute teachers for the 2024-25 school year. We are looking for applicants to join our pool of on-call substitutes for teachers who need to miss a full or partial day. 

Mackintosh Academy was founded in 1977 as Colorado's first school for gifted students and serves 105 students in pre-K through eighth grade. Mackintosh Academy’s mission is to nurture the keen minds and compassionate hearts of the gifted child in a responsive and caring community of learners. Our students mature into confident, healthy human beings inspired to contribute to a world that needs them.

We are one of the Denver area's few authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) independent schools to offer both a Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP).  As an authorized IB World School, Mackintosh Academy’s mission also aligns with the IB program’s mission, “to create a better world through education.”

Requested Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree (degree in education preferred)

• Ability to successfully pass a background check for a school environment

• Some teaching experience

The ideal candidate will: 

• Be flexible and nimble, able to respond appropriately to students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade
• Support our educational philosophy 
• Communicate with staff to understand lesson plans and schedules 
• Recognize and enjoy the unique talents of our students 
• Be prepared to enjoy being part of our fun, one-of-a-kind learning environment 

Pay Range: $18.50 to $20.50 per hour. Salary consideration is given for seniority, merit, quality, education, and experience. 

Start Date: Join our pool of substitute teachers immediately upon hire.
