Colorado Rocky Mountain School is seeking an experienced English teacher to join our team of dedicated faculty members in the fall of 2025. Our English courses focus on developing college readiness in writing, critical analysis of literary works, and research. All faculty participate in our active program and must demonstrate proficiencies related to our outdoor curriculum and/or sports programs. Applicants will also contribute to our residential and advisory programs and are expected to act effectively within a diverse cultural and social framework. Applicants must have an interest in or background in a student-centered, experiential pedagogical approach. CRMS teachers are expected to apply a variety of teaching strategies to meet each student’s needs and help each student reach an academically vibrant and skilled level of scholarship.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Teach three to four academic courses
- Collaborate to create and interdisciplinary humanities curriculum
- Support boarding students as a dorm parent in the evening and weekend residential program
- Mentor a group of students as an advisor
- Instruct active program curriculum (including mountain sports, arts, outdoor trips, or service work)
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Take on other duties as needed
- Execute all duties in a timely and professional manner
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field required; advanced degree and/or teaching credential preferred
- Humanities teaching experience (1-year minimum)
- Experience related to 9th grade English curricula preferred
- Experience teaching fundamental skill sets, such as reading comprehension and re-call, writing strategies and techniques, and organization skills
- Demonstrated experience in the use of technology, and in integrating technological applications in the classroom
- Organization/time-management skills
- Cultural competencies required to promote inclusion, equity, and belonging within a diverse cultural and social framework
- Ability to effectively engage with students as a dorm parent and advisor
- Theater arts experience preferred

Compensation package: Salary and benefits are commensurate with other Colorado boarding schools. Housing included. Salary range: $25,000-$50,000 plus benefits
