Our Alumni and Community Engagement Manager’s Responsibilities:

Community Engagement & Outreach

  • Manage and lead the school’s community engagement and outreach efforts to achieve a full, diverse, engaged, inclusive, positive, and innovative school community. Initiate, develop, implement and manage community engagement strategies and outreach programs.

  • Cultivate and grow relationships with community members and organizations to drive 100% engagement, retention, and investment.

  • Serve as school champion and staff leader for community groups such as the Parent Civic Organization, Grandparent Counsel, Alumni, and Aspen Business Leadership Community, promoting involvement and developing leadership. Recruit and develop group leaders. Promote, grow existing and initiate new community groups and programs to maximize involvement.

  • Serve as school champion and staff leader for lunchtime.  Staff contact for lunch vendor.  Recruit, coordinate and train parent volunteers.  Create and implement programming to support community building and well being among students during lunch.

  • Manage community engagement strategies, outreach programs, and partnerships with local businesses and nonprofits.

  • Create, produce, and distribute materials for outreach, community programs and events, including emails, mailings, social media, other communication channels, signage, etc. Collaborate with internal teams to align messaging and outreach and manage social media.

  • Represent the school at community events, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.

Event Management & Execution

  • Lead, plan, promote, and execute community events such as parent universities, picnics, and Aspen Business Leadership Community events.

  • Serve as the school event coordinator for all events occurring on campus, including sponsored events through facility rentals.

  • Recruit and manage volunteers, ensuring smooth event execution and active community involvement.

  • Solicit and manage sponsors for events.

Volunteer Management

  • Serve as the Volunteer Manager.

  • Manage the volunteer portal and oversee all volunteer activities, recruitment, and coordination.

  • Train team members and key volunteers in volunteer platform usage.

Data Management & Reporting

  • Track and analyze engagement data, providing reports and recommendations for growth.

  • Perform all data entry tasks, ensure data integrity, and assess the outcomes of community initiatives.

Compliance, Budget & Best Practices

  • Manage the community engagement budget, ensuring compliance with relevant policies.

  • Stay informed on community trends and best practices.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree. Master’s Degree preferred.

  • 5+ successful years of community engagement experience.

  • School based and/or non-profit community engagement experience preferred.  Volunteer management experience preferred.

  • 3+ years of successful event planning, coordination, and execution experience, on time and on budget.

  • Marketing experience preferred.

  • Experience with data collection and analysis.

  • Engagement campaign planning and operational management.

  • Proficiency in social media and other communication tools.

  • Strong technical skills in Google Suite.

  • Project Management experience.

  • Experience with CRMs (Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge preferred) and Golden volunteer app preferred.

  • Have a passion and enthusiasm for Aspen Academy’s mission, vision, values and strategic plan. 

  • Model and reinforce the school’s core values, guiding philosophy, rules and school spirit consistently throughout the school environment, and support and hold accountable colleagues in doing the same.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.

  • Grant permission for a criminal background check upon hire.

Salary Range: Starting annual salary $65,000-$85,000 (based on education & experience).
