About the Position
The primary function of this position is to act as an educational learner and leader, collaborator, and role model in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Primary and Lower Intermediate levels (K-4).
Responsibilities:

Support teacher growth and development as it aligns with the mission of the school

Partner with the Coordinator of Curriculum and Coaching, Associate Head, and members of the Educational Team to support all students

Supervise and coach all Primary and LIS teachers, as well as additional teaching staff

Evaluate academic programs in consultation with the Associate Head and Head of School

Develop responsive plans to support the educational, physical, social-emotional, and psychological needs of the school community
-
Conduct regular meetings with staff at these levels to discuss issues of educational/philosophical interest and concerns

Assist the Associate Head of School and Head of School with searches for all open faculty positions and make recommendations regarding hiring, placement, and retention of faculty

Assist in the admission and retention process for students and student applicants by reviewing files and participating in information sessions for prospective families

Be a visible presence in all areas of the school when possible

Work toward a resolution of all challenges as they arise and keep the Head of School informed

Partner with the rest of the senior administrative team to support Logan’s mission

Work closely with professional support staff (learning specialist and school counselor) to provide appropriate support for students

Participate and attend weekly Educational Team meetings

As part of the Senior Administrative team, support the school and its leadership, which includes helping to plan and being present at school-wide events

Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required in Education or related field; Master’s degree preferred

Successful independent school experience preferred
-
Experience in evaluating staff is preferred
-
Experience with gifted education is preferred

Must be able to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required
Direct Supervisor:
The Director of Primary and Lower IS (K-4) reports to the Head of School and is a 12-month, full-time, on-campus, salaried, exempt position eligible for full benefits.
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $100,000-$120,000, depending on experience. Benefits include employer-paid health insurance, paid time off, retirement plan matching contributions, long-term disability, life insurance, vision and dental, and a flexible spending program. Status: The Director of Primary is a full-time, in-person, salaried, exempt position.
