Position Overview:Graland Country Day School is seeking a Middle School administrative assistant to work closely with the head of school, the Middle School administration and faculty and students in grades 5-8. The position will handle multiple essential administrative assignments to support Middle School operations. The successful candidate will be an experienced assistant who understands school environments and the unique needs of Middle School students. This candidate will be front facing with students, faculty and families and therefore should enjoy working in a collaborative environment in a space that is highly trafficked. 

Reports to: Head of Middle School

Terms: Full-time, non- exempt

Hours: 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the MS Office

  • Partner with Communications

  • Partner with Registrar

  • Partner with Business Office

  • Coordinate events: arrange materials and refreshments, including purchase orders, room reservations and kitchen and maintenance requests 

  • Assist with the hiring process 

  • Assist with the proofing of the yearbook and student and faculty handbooks

  • Coordinate ERB’s CTP5 testing with SST in the spring

Qualifications:

The next Middle School Administrative Assistant at Graland Country Day School will:

  • Have an associates degree or two years experience as an administrative assistant in previous roles.

  • Have experience in an educational setting.

  • Demonstrates ease with technology and has extensive knowledge of Learning Management Systems, such as Blackbaud, Google Platform, Excel, and various word processing programs.

  • Has experience working with databases and is tech savvy.

  • Maintains positive, confidential, and effective relationships with students, parents/guardians, faculty, and administration.

  • Has a willingness to pursue ongoing professional development opportunities.

  • Possesses strong organization and communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. Salary is between $60,000 - $65,000 annually. Benefits include professional development, employer-paid health, vision, dental and life insurance, paid time off for school holidays and school vacations, as well as participation in a retirement plan.
