Human Resources Manager
This position is critical to the success of BCD’s value of Taking Care of Self and Others. Reporting to the CFO, the Human Resources Manager will provide HR services for recruiting, orientation and onboarding of new employees as well as services for employee relations and employee benefits. The Human Resources Manager will guide the school on all matters related to Human Resources and help to implement and administer policies that attract, support, and retain excellent teachers and staff.
This is a full time, year-round position that follows the normal 12-month calendar.
Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent HR services for the organization.
- Ensures compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations regarding recruitment activities, compensation and benefits, employee relations, termination of employment, workers compensation, and leaves of absence.
- Implements and communicates HR policies and best practices that align with the school’s mission to foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment.
- Fosters and models the school’s vision and values. Develops and executes recruitment strategies to position the school as an employer of choice; ensures a high-quality interview, selection, and onboarding experience for hiring managers and new hires.
- Provides direction and overall guidance with respect to performance standards; ensures overall effectiveness of the school’s annual performance evaluation process.
- Oversees the school’s employee relations programs, policies, and procedures including mentoring and coaching.
- Plans and directs the overall design, implementation, communication, and administration of employee benefits programs; ensures benefits programs are compliant, competitive, and cost effective.
- Works closely with the Business Office to prepare accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Coordinates with the School Nurse in the design and implementation of employee wellness programs.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field is required.
- 5+ years of experience in Human Resources Management with a focus on leadership.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and practices, including EEO, ERISA, FLSA, ADA, Workers’ compensation, FMLA, HFWA, FAMLI, ADA, HIPAA, and OSHA regulations.
- Previous experience managing benefits vendors.
- Strong computer skills and experience with HRIS/payroll software is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong coaching abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust, respect, and credibility with senior leaders, faculty, and staff, serving as a valued resource.
Desired Qualifications
- Professional Human Resources certification preferred but not required.
- Experience in performance management systems.
